As well as the more recognizable confectionary like chocolate and biscuits, there are many more traditional sweets that are enjoyed by the Japanese. Most of these are made out of beans and have the texture and taste of uncooked pastry with sugar. Yummy – needless to say I haven’t had any requests to bring back any more sweets.
However, we stop and have some Amanatto (sweet beans) which were very nice – or maybe I’m just turning Japanese?
